Eurovision 1980
Eurovision Songcontest 1980
The Eurovision Song Contest 1980 was the 25th Eurovision Song Contest and was held on April 19, 1980 in The Hague.
Israel, winner in 1979, declined to host the show for the second time in a row, as the IBA could not fund another international production, and the Israeli government turned down a request to extend the IBA budget. Moreover, the date that was eventually set for the 1980 contest by the European Broadcasting Union coincided with Israel's Day of Remembrance for the Holocaust, so Israel decided not to participate at all. After Spain, the 2nd place winner of 1979, and reportedly the UK, refused to host, the Netherlands finally agreed to put on the show providing they were allowed to scale back the production.Marocco entered the Eurovision family for the first (and so far only) time.
Johnny Logan representing Ireland was the winner of this Eurovision with the song, What's Another Year.

Touch Of Class (philly)
Touch Of Class - I'm In Heaven
A killer little soul group who recorded with John 'Monster' Davis in the mid 70s , really soaring with a groove that rivals some of their bigger contemporaries on the east coast group scene! Touch Of Class sing in a style that's sometimes fragile, but often more suited to the soaring grooves that Davis gives them on the album -- a mode that's partly disco, partly pop, and which should have been as huge as any of their Philly or New York contemporaries.
I’m In Heaven contained the highly sought after track, 'I Love You Pretty Baby'.
Various musicians from the Salsoul Orchestra were utilised, giving the album a very 'full' sound. Including Vince Montana and the Don Renaldo Strings.

The Reflections
The Reflections - Complete Recordings 1963 - 1966
Detroit-based the Reflections were a five-man group schooled in doo wop who scored in 1964 on Ed Wingate's Golden World label with '(Just Like) Romeo and Juliet,' written by Bob Hamilton and Freddie Gorman. (Gorman later wrote songs for Motown ('Please Mr. Postman' and 'Forever') and formed the Originals, who hit with 'Baby I'm for Real.')
The Reflections were Phil Castrodale, Ray Steinberg, Tony Micale, Danny Bennie, and Johnny Dean. The group's first recording was a remake of the Five Satins' 'In the Still of the Night' on Tigre, which did well in some Midwestern markets. Their Golden World debut, '(Just Like) Romeo and Juliet,' cracked the Top Ten before settling at the number six position.
They recorded seven more 45s for Golden World, but none were as successful as '(Just Like) Romeo and Juliet.' 'Like Columbus Did' cracked the pop 100, but only by four slots, hanging at number 96. 'Poor Man's Son,' the Reflections' sixth Golden World single, almost cracked the Top 40 but stopped climbing at number 55. Other singles -- 'Talking About My Girl,' '(I'm Just) A Henpecked Guy,' 'Shabby Little Hut,' 'Wheelin' and Dealin',' 'Out of the Picture,' and their final single, 'Girl in the Candy Store' -- did nothing.
